Nissan 370Z

Post  AlexWong on Sun Nov 23, 2008 4:03 pm

Nissan has released the first official image of the upcoming 2009 370Z Coupe, this all-new 370Z is the first full redesign of the iconic Nissan Z since the introduction of the previous generation model back in 2003, and it is set to go on sale early next year as a 2009 model.
The new model is shorter and trimmer than the current car, accentuating the flared wheel-arches and the new rear quarter panel area around the hatch where the window line sweeps upward, being a design mix of new GTR and old 240z.

One of the biggest criticisms of the current 350Z is its drab interior and poor quality materials, however the interior shot reveals that Nissan has added nicer plastics and extra color options for the cabin. Other changes include the shark fin-style headlamps and LED daytime running lights.

The biggest change, however, will be the introduction of Nissan’s latest 3.7L VQ37VHR V6 engine in the Z as confirmed by the 2009 model’s new name. The same as in the Skyline V36 it develops up to 330hp (246kW) and 366Nm (270lb-ft) of torque. Power levels for the 370Z are rumored to be up around 350hp (261kW), and there is also talk that Nissan may offer a dual-clutch gearbox as an option.
